I was gonna pick another couple but then I remembered, Hiroki & Nowaki, Junjou Romantica.
Why I think these two are my dream pairing, yaoi as they are? They've been together for 6 (going on 7) years. We see their story from the first time they met and their first few weeks together and how they hash out their relationship in the start (and how utterly cute and tsundere Hiraki was about following Nowaki around and how Nowaki already knew about that. Hiro, you were too damn cute) and then 6 years later when Nowaki returns from a tour of America and yer like "WAIT A MINUTE, WHAT the hell happened here? Last we left you, you two were a happy couple so why the hell did Nowaki leave for America? And why do they look like they've broken up?"
And when Nowaki asks him to wait for him outside the family res and Hiroki's thoughts when waiting in the rain...Nowaki chasing after him to the university and their talk in the university ;A; It was all so touching...and then Hiroki's inner monologue...it makes the heart ache. And how they slowly mend and improve their relationship together. I find that kinda the pinnacle of a good long relationship.
I think the thing I love the best about their relationship is the fact that they have a nice long relationship. Usual relationships that are shown are about the chase and the couple trying to get together and then once they get together, we go maybe a few more months or maybe at tops, another year on their relationship before we jump forward that they're married and living happily ever after. But here, we see these two working through their relationship even 6 years down the road. And they both grow along the way too, particularly Nowaki. I adore that man really - why can't there be more men like him in real life? *pouts*
But yeah...first time I've seen such a long term relationship going strong even after 6-7 years. Rock on Nowaki and Hiro.
