Oh dude COME ON. The answer is as obvious as the nose on my damn face! Buffy and Angel!
Three words: Star-crossed lovers. Nuff said.
The ORIGINAL human and vampire love story. What better dynamic can you fucking GET than these two? She is the Slayer - she's supposed to kill vampires. He's a vampire and a natural enemy to her. But he's cursed with a soul and remorseful as hell over his crimes. He fell in love with her at first sight when she was 15-16. He saw her first hunt. He CHANGED for HER. He become a Warrior of the Light FOR HER. They tried to fight their attraction but well *smiles* "One of us has to go here...." "I know...."
He gave her a claddagh ring for her 16th birthday (no no i will not go into the meaning behind that), his ONE moment of PERFECT HAPPINESS came when they made love for the first time on her 16th birthday. Say it with me, epic love story. She sent him to Hell to save the world and it broke her heart in so many ways. But SHE brought him back. And when he came back, he was a crazed beast thanks to the centuries of torture. But whats the ONE thing that he remembers? Buffy....he remembers Buffy ;_; and she helps him back on his feet and they mend their relationship and it seems to be going good but then the Mayor...God damn him really....
Angel breaks up with her...for her sake (That he doesn't want her to spend the rest of her life with him). "You deserve more...you deserve more than the demons and darkness. You need to be with someone who can take you into the light....Someone who can make love to you." "I don't care about that." "You will. A-and children." "Children?! Can you say jumping the gun? I killed my goldfish!" "Today. But you have no idea how fast it goes Buffy. Before you know it, you'll want it all. A normal life." "I'll never have a normal life." "Right...you'll always be the Slayer. But thats all the more reason to have a real relationship instead of this...this freak show. . . . . . . . . I didn't mean t-" " . . . how am i supposed to stay away from you?" ". . . I'm leaving. After its over with the Mayor and Faith. And if we survive...I'll go." "Where?" "I dunno..." " . . . is this really happening?"
But he still shows to her Prom because he knows, he understands how important that is for her. And then he leaves her but he still keeps tabs on how she's doing. Idiot visits her on Thanksgiving but doesnt tell her that he was there. So when she finds out, she visits him in L.A and he becomes human for one glorious, carefree day. But then he gives it up...HE GIVES U P HIS HUMANITY for HER! So that SHE can live a longer life(Yeah like THAT happened :A;) and he erases the day...no one remembers what happened on the Forgotten Day. Except him. Except him....*sighs*
And then there was "Five by Five" and "Sanctuary" and "The Yoko Factor", loved the semi-jealous and territorial Angel. I wanted to glomp him when he gives Riley that smug ass grin when he passes him. I had squealed out loud when I watched that the first time. When Joyce died, he came to her. He spent the night holding her in his arms as she confided in him and he comforted her. He says... "I can stay in town as long as you want me." " . . . How's forever? Does forever work for you? *sniffs* I'm sorry...I'm seriously needy right now." "Let me worry about the neediness. I can handle it." *they kiss* When Angel and the gang get back from Pylea and they step into the Hyperion and they see WIllow just...sitting there. And Angel just..knows...that Buffy's dead....or whatever news Willow came to give is about Buffy. And when he gets word that Buffy's back, the way he just jumps up and rushes to the phone and they meet. *sighs* And in the end of season 08, he comes to Buffy again to help her. And she admits that her cookies are not done baking yet...but once they are, she'll come to him. And the way he smiles when he says that he'll wait for her.
Epic love story. NOW YOU FUCKING TELL ME HOW Edward and Bella match up to their EPIC romance. Joss Whedon, I love you and hate you but GOD DAMN you knew how to tell a good story *salutes* Forever works for us JUST.FINE.
